3th class before the end
Hello, guys, how are you?
At this class, we learned plenty of things. But, before that, Teacher has corrected some exercises from the Work Book.
Well, the current chapter (5) is about Natural Disasters. We started with the grammar in lesson 1 that teachs us how to do indirect speechs. The affirmatives are easier, but the negative ones brought me some difficulty because it's unusual. In English, many times you have to change word's order that it's normal to us. Like that:
If you wanna pass this to the indirect speech: Daddy said, "Do your homework!".
It would be like this: Daddy said to do my homework.
or
Daddy said, "Don't go outside"! -> Daddy said not to go outside.
Teacher also told us how to use this terms when we are supposed to change a sentence to indirect speech:
here -> there;
this -> that;
these -> those;
now -> that time, imediately;
tomorrow -> next day, the day after;
yesterday -> previous day, the day before;
It's better to know that frequently we must to modify the verb. For instance, if we have the following sentence:
They said, "The painting is terrific!". -> They said that the painting was terrific.
or
Norah said, "The show had some problems!". -> Norah said that the show had had some problems.
So, when the verb is in present it changes to the past; and, when the verb is in past, it becomes past perfect.
She said something about "deitics" but I didn't understand to write about it. If someone can help me, it would be great!

15th class
Hi, everyone,
at this class, Teacher taught us the uses of have, get and make to ask people to do something. The only different is the get because it needs the to. We can't forget that when we use make there is an obligation.
I'm going to looking for some examples to put here.

14th class
Hello, people, at this class, Teacher told us about the test. What we did wrong and the right way to do it. Also we started Unit 3 and I found out I'm a little procrastinator, but who doesn't? Right? We saw how to ask things for people and not to be rude. It's common to start with "I could get ..." or "Can you get ...". At the end of the class, we were supposed to make up a polite sentence like "Could I get the exercises done now?"
I'm used to watch this video-classes on Youtube. The videos are pretty short and teach us how to act in an indirect way.
Well, I think that's it. If you want to add anything else, please, be my guest.
See you! :)

The teacher taught us the following modal verbs: might, may and must. And the expression "be able to" that means capacity, ability or possibility.
- To express possibility
- It might last forever.
- I might have some money in my wallet.
- She may be able to change his mind.
- To express capacity
- You may go there anytime.
- You are able to do that job.
- To express future ability
- You'll be able to speak as languages as you want.
- I'll be able to drive when I have my permission.

7th class
We learned about many kinds of sicknesses and how to express the symptoms. It appeared a lot of new words.When you get a flu, you'll probably have sore throat and you'll sneeze, but if it is a cold, it's common to have fever and to wheeze.
If you have asthma, you certainly feel short of breath when you climb the stairs, but if your problem is a fractured arm bone you must use a plaster cast. Sometimes, when you have toothache, it seems like your head hurts too as it was a migrane, but it's just a headache.
There is a list of ways to say how are you feeling.

At this class, the teacher corrected the exercises on page 6 about Past Perfect.
We started to talk about manners and etiquette. There are rules you must follow in specific situations.
I found this text related to this subject.
One last thing: our coleague gave us this wonderful website hint www.lyricstraining.com where you can practice completing the songs' words. Very good!

- How to greet people you do know or don't; Shaking hands, with two or three, or even four kisses on the cheek, hugging, bowing;
- When you are eating, that it is called "table manners". In some places, it's a good sign to belch after the meal because it means you are satisfied, but it's not so good to use toothpicks;
- What is "polite" to do or not to do like to arrive fifteen minutes late tops;
- In some countries there are foods that you should avoid because it's a "taboo"; for instance, in India they don't eat meat because cows are considered divine beings. And we don't eat dogs in Brazil, but chinese people doesn't have problems with that.

Last class we saw the past perfect. I don't know if I understood well, but I'll try to write about it. If you think I'm not right, please help me.
I think it will be easier if we compare the present and past perfect.
The structure of present perfect is:
(Present simple of auxiliary verb) + (Past participle of main verb)
Ex.: "They have been to Europe." or "She has done it."
And the structure of past perfect is:
(Past simple of auxiliary verb) + (Past participle of main verb)
Ex.: "They had overslept." or "It had happened."
The present perfect is used when:
If you have doubts or want to add more examples, please leave a comment and we will ask the teacher, right?

3rd Class
We learned about greetings. How to introduce yourself. There are many ways to introduce yourself and to make the conversation less formal, like:
Do you mind if I call you Johny?
The teacher also told us about question tags like:
You are foreign, aren't you?
She speaks english, doesn't she?
They don't go to the movies, do they?
If we make an affirmative sentence, the question tag should be a negative one, and vice-versa.
At the end of the class, we learned about small talks. Small talk is a little conversation that you do when you are on an elevator, or when you are waiting for a medical consultation and you talk to the people close to you:
What a wonderful day, isn't it?.
We must pay atention to the first person like the wonderful example teacher gave us if you're drunk and want to make clear you live where you are:
I live here, aren't I?
She told us there are three ways to say that. A high formal way: "am I not?"; that sounds pretty cheesy ;) and a slang way: "ain't I?". But the standard way that it's more used is "aren't I?".
FYI: ;) I've searched about what means "Sawatdee-Khrab" and "Sawatdee-Kaa". Both are thai expressions that mean "Hello". The first one is said by men and the last one is said by women. Here is where I found it: http://www.ehow.com/way_6177292_thai-language.html

2nd Class
We started to work the first chapter from the book. We read the texts about a company meeting and discussed some vocabulary. It appeared some words like:
* awareness, smoothly, denim and slacks.
Then we were supposed to do an exercise: to make up some rules on specific situations like: public transportation, on the beach, etc;
For example, if you're on the beach it's important the following rule:
Don't pee on the sand!
